The Wait Is Over: First Tesla Cybertrucks To Be Delivered This Month

Has there ever been a vehicle more Marmite than the Tesla Cybertruck? Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the brand’s latest creation has generated a whole lot of interest.

Whether you’re an avid Tesla supporter or not, chances are you’re at least somewhat interested in the Cybertruck. It’s hard not to be a little curious about something that looks so enormously different from everything else on the road, after all.

Well, you won’t have to wait much longer to see the Cybertruck on the road. According to the brand’s equally-divisive CEO, Elon Musk, customer deliveries of the new model are expected to begin during November this year.

After almost four years of hype, interest and… confusion, we’re finally going to see just what the Cybertruck is really made of.

Will it live up to expectations? Will it change the way cars and trucks of the future will be designed? Will it really be bulletproof? All of these questions are yet to be answered.

What we do know, however, is that more than 700,000 people have pre-registered to purchase one using Tesla’s online ordering system. If that number is any indication of future sales, the Cybertruck should prove to be a runaway success.

The EV landscape has changed a whole lot since the truck was first unveiled, though. It remains to be seen whether the flood of initial interest will translate to sustained demand from customers.

Speaking at a meeting of Tesla shareholders, Musk admitted that challenges lie ahead for the new model: “Cybertruck is one of those special products that comes along only once in a long while, and special products that come along once in a long while are just incredibly difficult to bring to market, to reach volume, to be prosperous.

“If you want to do something radical and innovative, and something really special like the Cybertruck you have to invent, not just the car, but the way to make the car. The more uncharted the territory, the less predictable the outcome,”

We certainly respect Tesla’s daring. Let’s see if the car-buying public does too.
